ABOUT THIS PRODUCT

La Esperanza Coffee Blossom Honey

To describe the art of cultivating and producing specialty coffee as challenging is quite the understatement. The hardworking folks at coffee growing origins around the world assume the greatest risk in the game and oftentimes are saddled with the hardest and most tedious labor. This means that supporting these individuals is crucial, especially as the effects of climate change become more and more apparent. Any opportunity coffee farmers have to supplement their income with products such as cascara and, in this case, coffee blossom honey, can contribute to their overall success year after year. That’s why we’re doing our best to source some of these lesser known coffee products so that our community can try them for themselves to see what the buzz is all about! We have offered coffee blossom honey from Huehuetenango, Guatemala in years past and are very happy to be offering it again, this time from Otto Herrera’s farm, La Esperanza. Most folks are familiar with the flavors of classic clover honey that can be found in all sorts of consumer goods, but for those looking for a unique and remarkably sweet honey, this variety serves as a fantastic entry point. Honey can take on a variety of flavors depending on the kinds of flowers that bees collect nectar from, and this means that coffee blossom honey tends to have a light, crisp and fruity flavor profile, and finishes with a notable and pleasant sweetness. It pairs perfectly with our Costa Rican cascara tea as a way to cut the tart acidity with a refreshing floral sweetness. We only hope you enjoy it just as much as we have!

Origin: Huehuetenango, Guatemala

Flavor Notes: Starfruit, Orange Blossom, Honeysuckle
