Ayutepeque is the original Topeca farm where the Lopez-Diaz family tradition of growing coffee began. Established in 1850 by Santiago Diaz, Ayutepeque is a 65-hectare coffee farm situated at the base of the Santa Ana volcano. The volcanic soil provides the coffee trees with all the essential nutrients to grow strong and healthy. At Ayutepeque, we currently grow a number of different cultivars that are well suited to the environs of El Salvador, including Bourbon, Pacas, Pacamara, Acaia, and Marsellesa.
Ayutepeque has a slightly lower elevation compared to the coffees grown at El Manzano, resulting in a coffee that is typically less dense with lower levels of acidity, and rich, nutty flavors with heavy cocoa aromas. This is a perfect option for any coffee lover looking to try a solid specialty single-origin coffee from El Salvador.
Established in 1850, Ayutepeque is the farm that started it all. This light roast is a perfect entry point for anyone who is interested in trying a single-origin coffee from El Salvador. With notes of pecan, sweet maple syrup, and rich milk chocolate, this coffee is not only an ode to tradition, it’s Topeca’s namesake.
