Our current Ethiopian Natural offering from the 2019 harvest, was grown on a Mt. Kayon Farm located in the Oromia region, in the Guji zone of the Shakiso district of Ethiopia. Mt. Kayon farm is operated by Ismel Hassen and his family. Ismel oversees a staff of 25 permanent full-time and 300 seasonal employees, and the farm management offers free transportation services as well as financial support for building schools and administration buildings for the community. The farm competes with a nearby mining village for seasonal workers, so Ismel and his family tend to pay higher wages to their pickers in order to incentive them returning year after year.

The great thing about a single farm coffee as opposed the the more common mix of small-holder grown coffee, is that quality control and tractability can be realized at every level from the nursery to export. The result is a coffee lot that exhibits stunning clarity. Enjoy the highly aromatic qualities of berries, honey, and flowers when you grind the coffee. The brewed liquor comes together with a vibrant fruity acidity, complex and sweet flavor notes, a lush syrupy body, and long finish of chocolate and brown spice.

Don't own a grinder? Don't own a good grinder? Not a problem, let us expertly grind the coffee for you depending on the method with which you brew. We roast, grind and package your coffee to order, so it gets to you just a few days after roasting. We do recommend to consume pre-ground coffee within 2 weeks after opening to experience maximum freshness of flavor.
