Our staple Colombia is a perfect option for people who have grown to love the flavor profile of coffees from the Huila Department of Colombia. Laboyano is a colloquial collective name that the indigenous peoples who live in the Laboyo valley of Southern Huila call themselves, a word first used by Spanish colonists who settled in this area. The name is a tribute to the hard work of several dedicated Laboyanos who produce these high-quality coffee varieties, which include a generous amount of Pink Bourbon. This coffee is a community lot of top-quality coffees produced by indigenous smallholders in the area, carefully curated, scored, and blended by our sourcing partners, The Coffee Quest, at their washing station in Pitalito, southern Huila. All lots are fully traceable, and producers are paid fair and transparent prices based on quality.
The cup offers a quintessential Huila profile, defined by a brown butter sweetness and creamy texture accented by a tart fruity acidity. Aromatic flavors of Amareno cherry, red grape, cola, and brown sugar comingle to create a complex yet balanced cup of coffee.
