Check out this lovely coffee from Producer Javier Rubio and his farm Finca el Libano in Gaitania, Tolima, Colombia. We sourced this coffee with aid of our friends at Direct Origin Trading, who have brought us many of your favorite Colombian lots over the past couple of years. Colombia being one of my personal favorite coffee origins, I look forward to new crop lots like this.
In the cup you’ll find classic flavors of the Gaitania region, which I’ve come to crave. In the nose, enjoy sweet aromas of dark cherry, honey, toffee, and baking spice. The cherry carries over to the palate and is accompanied by a cola and brown sugar flavor. The acidity is balanced-to-lively and cherry-like in character. You should find the body to be full but not lingering. Enjoy this now through June 2019.
