January 2024 Roaster's Choice

Back again for a second year, we are featuring for the month of January, an exquisite microlot from Finca Bruwher in Ecuador. Our sourcing partners at The Coffee Quest, sourced this lot directly from producer Karla Garcia. Karla and her partner run the small farm and mill where they grow about 3 hectares of cherry, as well as buy cherry from neighboring farmers to process. Once cherry is delivered to their wet mill, they sort and process the coffees via the washed, or parchment-dried, method as well as the fruit-dried method. They dry their coffees in the sun on African style raised beds for more consistent drying.

This particular roast is incredibly sweet with a fruity quality reminiscent of pomegranate, an underlying sweetness like a sugary wafer, and a rich finish of dark cocoa.
