Every once and a while you find a coffee that makes you go "wow, what am I tasting?" This one of those coffees.

For the past few years we've been working with our friends at Anthem Coffee Imports to to bring in this truly unique coffee from the Kerinci Highlands of Sumatra this time of year. This coffee is set apart from the typical coffees produced in Sumatra in that it is skillfully processed by drying the pulp around the seed on raised beds in greenhouses. This is in stark contrast from the usual wet-hulling process and tarp drying seen throughout most of the farmlands. The result is a coffee that is multilayered with aromas, flavors, and sensations.

In the cup you'll find a complex collage of flavors such as roasted citrus, cran-apple, rosehips, caramelized sugar, and baking spices. Like a deep red wine, it has rich tannins which coat the palate. The crisp acidity is playful, and the caramelized sugar and  spice finish is lingering. If you are looking for something off the beaten path, give this one a try.

This coffee was grown by a collective of 600 small producers. The coffee was processed by Santiang Exports, who are they premier processors and exporters in Sumatra. They have worked diligently over the past decade to elevate the quality of Sumatran coffees, working side by side farmers by providing quality seedlings, and training them on sustainable practices and conservation solutions.

Don't own a grinder? Don't own a good grinder? Not a problem, let us expertly grind the coffee for you depending on the method with which you brew. We roast, grind and package your coffee to order, so it gets to you just a few days after roasting.
