Artists deserve our support and attention, so we wanted to let Claremore Artist John Hammer completely take over the bag. In our holiday artist collab box, you can purchase a frameable cotton canvas 8”x10” print of this piece, Roasted, along with a 12oz bag of coffee, chocolate and your option of a St Anthony travel mug. All sales from the print in the box goes to John.

This Hammer Holiday Blend is roasted with a natural processed Ethiopia Shakiso, honey processed Sumatra Kerinci, and an anaerobically fermented Costa Rica. Together, roasted to a heavy medium degree, you’ll get aromas of dried berries on the nose from the Ethiopian, baking spice and rum cake notes from the Sumatran, followed by dark chocolate and liquor vibes like rum or mulled wine from the Costa Rican. This coffee is more than good enough to drink black, and it pairs well with cream and/or liqueur.

Try this coffee in a french press at a 1:15 ratio using James Hoffman’s french press recipe, or brew it at a 1:12 ratio, then add some Kalua if you need some help getting through the holidays.

John Hammer Bio

John was born in Kingsville, TX and grew up in both Northfield, MN and Okmulgee, OK. He now lives in Claremore, OK. He has an art studio at home and was one of the inaugural Studio Artists at The Hardesty Arts Center in Tulsa, OK.

In primary school, John would draw with pencil and ink, earning him awards which propelled him to pursue a degree and career in graphic design. Though digital mediums for clients occupied his work for years, the desire for art on canvas guided him to open his fine art studio.

His work, informed by years of graphic design, features bright colors, clear intention and digital distortion. As John follows his fine art vision, the goals are to keep his art diverse and his expressions varied; however, he says, “I'll always paint and pursue new mediums, but I won't forget my first love - the pencil”
